Slovakia and Romania opened this exciting day. It didn't take long for Slovakia to gain a significant lead, ending the first half with a score of 49:9. Throughout the rest of the game, the point difference varied around 50 points, and the game ultimately ended at 97:28. Slovakia will play for fifth place tomorrow. The most efficient player was Zoja Benková, who had 21 points and nine rebounds, for an efficiency rating of 20.

“I think we had good defence, and that’s why we won. We also had good preparation for this game and wanted to win very much. I think we will be in fifth place tomorrow, but we must play as well as we did today.”

After, Austria and Bulgaria faced off for the win that takes them to a game for the fifth place. Bulgaria quickly took the lead by 20 points in the first quarter. At halftime the ending score was 46:13. Bulgarian run did not end, with great action on both ends they got themselves a win, 84:25. Tomorrow they will play for the fifth place. The most efficient player was Aleksandra Borislavova, who scored 13 points, six rebounds and five assists, for an efficiency rating of 23.

The afternoon was reserved for the semi-finals. The first two national teams trying to get a spot in the finals were Poland and Croatia. As expected for a semi-final, the game was very tight from the start. In the first quarter, Poland led 18:13, and by halftime, the difference was slightly higher at 33:26. Poland was consistent in their lead, ending the third quarter with a score of 47:36. An extremely intense game ended with Poland heading to the finals with happy tears in their eyes and a final score of 63:53. The most efficient player was Maja Knap with 12 points and five rebounds, for an efficiency rating of 17.

“We worked very hard tonight. I feel like we are very put together as a team, and we are so excited for tomorrow—we are going to the finals!”

Last match of the day was semi-final 2 between Slovenia and Hungary. First few minutes Hungary was in lead, but Slovenia had different plans. They tied and took the lead with a basket under a foul. First quarter finished at 18:14. Hungary fought hard and even took the lead, but Slovenia reclaimed it to end the first half at 36:29. Third quarter was even more intense when Hungary took over by 55:44. In the last act of the day Slovenia fought hard but Hungary was better and with the ending score of 70:59 they are moving to the finals. The most efficient player was Lea Ujhelyi who scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds for an efficiency rating of 18.

After the matches, there was the much-anticipated pool party, where the players had the chance to get to know each other better, create new bonds between the national teams and gain fresh energy for tomorrow’s final day.
