U14 I Feel Slovenia Ball isn't just the first time young players get to experience international competition, but it also gives opportunities to young referees.
The U14 I Feel Slovenia Ball tournament is an important opportunity for young referees. It provides them with their first chance to officiate international games, giving them valuable experience on a larger stage. This focus on developing young officials shows the event's commitment to supporting all aspects of young basketball. The Basketball Federation of Slovenia invites the most promising referees, who have proven themselves at a refereeing camp in Postojna.
As players do, the referees from different countries also get to know each other. This tournament brings together young and motivated officials from seven different countries, giving them a chance to meet and build important international and professional connections. These valuable connections can foster a sense of shared purpose, creating a supportive environment that could prove beneficial for their future careers in officiating.

“I’ve only been refereeing for two years, and this is my first time at an international basketball game, so it’s a great opportunity for me. I get to meet my colleagues from other countries which is very nice.”
Beyond gaining valuable experience, these young referees also bring their own unique influence and energy to the tournament. Their presence on the court provides a fresh perspective for the players and coaches. And just as the players grow through this competition, the referees are also on a developmental journey, and they both can learn from each other.
