Two teams were fighting for the win and it showed. It was a close start, with Romania leading by just two points. In the second quarter both scored the same number of points, keeping the difference unchanged at halftime (39:37). But the third quarter belonged entirely to Slovakia, who outscored Romania 30:16 and took control of the game. Romania was unable to make a comeback, as Slovakia secured their second win, 80:71, and advanced to the semi-finals. The most efficient player was Adam Garaj with 22 points, six rebounds and four assist for an efficiency rating of 22.

Hungary was the better team in the first quarter, but in the second, the loud Polish fans helped inspire Poland to a 30:26 lead at halftime. It was still anybody’s game. The third quarter proved decisive, as Hungary built a 10-point lead, and they continued to dominate in the final period eventually winning 69:55. Remaining undefeated, Hungary advanced to the semi-finals. The most efficient player was Gergő Bencze with 18 points, nine rebounds and one assist for an efficiency rating of 15.

Slovenia and Bulgaria set the tone for an exciting game right from the start, with Slovenia hitting seven threes and Bulgaria six in the first quarter. However, Bulgaria’s advantage in two-point shooting and free throws helped them build a 13-point lead (56:45). The hosts clearly regrouped during the break and came back stronger. In the closing minutes of the third quarter, Slovenia completed their comeback, taking the lead and entering the final period up 77:73. But Bulgaria were not far behind. Just three minutes into the fourth quarter, they regained control, and the drama began. Slovenia stayed within striking distance, with both teams fighting hard for their first win and needing to stay focused in the final minutes. With Slovenia trailing by just two points and 16 seconds remaining, Bulgaria kept their composure. They pushed past the 100-point mark and secured their first win, 101:96. The most efficient player was Dimitar Gavalyugov with 25 points, one rebound and two assists for an efficiency rating of 15.

Bosnia and Herzegovina opened the game strongly, putting together some great plays to take a 39:26 lead into halftime. They continued to extend their advantage after the break, with Croatia struggling to find a solution. But the final quarter was all Croatia. They dominated at both ends of the court and mounted a strong comeback, coming within one point with just a minute remaining. Bosnia and Herzegovina stayed composed, however, scoring a crucial basket to secure their third win, 67:64. The most efficient player was Pavle Račić with 16 points and 10 rebounds for an efficiency rating of 21.
