Competition Days

International Teams

14 Days of Inspiration

Slovenia Ball is one of the biggest U14 tournaments with 20 international teams. This is the first international step for many future basketball stars - boys and girls. In 5 days, the kids experience many aspects of the European Championships - they represent their country for the first time, they listen national anthem, they hear public announcer present them in front of the fans with the escort of the light show. We also provide live online coverage on Youtube of all the games.

However, Slovenia Ball Tournament is not just about competition. We are aware that 14-years old kids need some fun as well. Many new friendships among all the participants are made, also among coaches and referees! Among the competition we provide some fun as well, such as pool party, volleyball and final ceremony.

What a day. The last day of the tournament was spectacular from the first game to the last. Fans gathered in big numbers and the atmosphere was incredible. Teams did their best and represented their flag admirably. The treat of the day was the big finale in which Slovenia won against Israel in an overtime with 62 : 60. Incredible comeback by the Slovenians after being down by 18 points. Unfortunately we saw an injury in the finals when one of the best players of the tournament dislocated his shoulder. Fortunately nothing was broken and we wish him a speedy and successful recovery. Italy came third followed by Poland, Croatia, Montenegro, Hungary, North Macedonia, Ukraine and Bulgaria. The best five of the tournament was Kajetan Kuczawski (POL), Jurica Zagoršak (CRO), Alberto Pellizzari (ITA), Yarin Simon Dazanashvili (ISR) and Luka Šmitran (SLO). Best scorer of the tournament was Teo Vojnovikj (NMK), best rebounder was Jurica Zagoršak (CRO), assist leader and MVP of the tournament was Luka Šmitran (SLO).

The tournament was a great success as both boys and girls showed their skills and gained valuable experiences. At this point we want to thank to all of the teams, referees, fans and other team staff for making this an unforgettable experience and one of the best Slovenia Ball tournament ever.

See you next year on 16th Slovenia Ball in Slovenj Gradec.

Everything is ready for the last day of the competition. The semi-finals offered a real treat, a game between Italy and Israel, which was decided in the last seconds. Italy has lead most of the game but came out short in the closing moments of the game. Now Italy will try to get the medal against Poland who showed a good performance against Slovenia. Izrael and Slovenia will meet again in the finals and we can definitely say that it will be a close call judging by the first game which ended +2 for Israel. 5th place will be decided between Montenegro and Croatia the regional rivals will certainly give us an interesting game. 7th place will be decided between Hungary and North Macedonia, and Ukraine and Bulgaria will go off for the 9th place. Don’t miss anything and follow us on Instagram and FaceBook. All the games will be live of course on our YouTube channel. Another great day and 10 exciting games. After the group stage it is clear that Italy, Israel, Poland and Slovenia will clash head to head for the title, but it was a close call. Especially in group A where Montenegro beat team Israel in the last seconds of the game and there was a circle of three teams with one loss and three wins. Montenegro loss against Slovenia was to big of a deficit in points so they finished third in group A. Group B was also very close as Croatia put up a great performance but couldn't get the win against Poland. Poland won the game by 3 points. A big shootout to the fans as well as they gathered in a large number to support their teams.
